UI Designer in SLC, Utah

December 15th, 2009

I think one of the best partnerships you can have for a indie development shop is a developer and a good UI designer. By designer I mean someone who knows their way around Photoshop and Illustrator and is familiar with user interface guidelines on the Mac and iPhone. Ideally they would have done some development themselves.

With that in mind, if you’re a user interface designer in the Salt Lake City area and interested in partnering for some iPhone and/or Mac OS X apps then send me an email. I’d be interested in exploring how we might work together.

In this ever increasing web accessible world, does Packrat and other offline desktop web app clients still make sense? I like to know what you think on this as well.

Numerology Web App

October 16th, 2009

I’m thinking of writing a web app that would work with Numerology. One could use the web app on the desktop for easier data entry and a larger screen and the iPhone app would sync up with it.

I’d love to get some feedback on this idea. What do you think?

Numerology Crashes

July 9th, 2009

Numerology 1.6 and Numerology Lite 1.2 are crashing for a few people when launched. Thanks to one of our customers, Theben Moodley, I’ve figured out the problem and a new version has been submitted to Apple. Hopefully Apple will quickly approve the update and it will be fixed.

As a workaround, you can just reinstall the app. Of course, you’ll lose all your profiles, so you’ll have to decide if you want to and are able to reenter them again. Or just wait for the update.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

Numerology 1.6

July 6th, 2009

Numerology 1.6 is now available in the App Store. This version brings quite a few changes. They are:

1) Search: You can search for profiles and the profiles table is indexed. Just drag your finger along the side to quickly find a profile or just search for them.

2) Names: You only need to enter one name. Before there was a display name and a full name. Now you just enter the person’s birth name which is what Numerology analyzes anyway.

3) Editing: You edit a profile when viewing the profile rather than in the profile list. This makes it a little easier and straightforward on how to edit a profile.

4) Email:  You can email a complete numerology report or just a report on a specific area.

5) More Analysis: You can see your personal month and day, making Numerology useful everyday.

I hope you like these changes. I think they make Numerology much better. Emailing required code in iPhone OS 3.0 and hence Numerology requires iPhone OS 3.0.

Numerology 1.3 is now available in the app store. This release adds a compatibility feature. You can choose two profiles and see how compatible they are for romance, business partnerships, or friendship.

Also fixed some minor bugs and when a list of profiles is displayed you can see the birthdays as well as the names and pictures.
