Recently I switched the forums to use Vanilla Forums, in the hope that the spam problem would be solved. That hasn’t happened. If anything, spam increased. So, because of the spam and because the forums have little traffic, I have removed the forums for the web site. As usual if you have comments or support requests, you can continue to email support@infinitenil.com. We are also on twitter as @infinitenil.

May 7th, 2011Introducing Packrat Lite
April 18th, 2011Packrat Lite is now available in the Mac App Store. Packrat Lite is a free version of Packrat that let’s you view the data from your Backpack accounts while your offline. It works just like the full version of Packrat, except you cannot edit any of your data.
I decided to release Packrat Lite to get more people to try Packrat and see you useful it is and how nice it is to have a native Mac OS X UI for Backpack. If you like it and want to get the full benefit of Packrat and be able to edit your data offline, then please purchase the full version.
New Forums
April 8th, 2011I’ve finally had it with punBB and how much spam I get in my forums. So, infinitenil.com now has new forum software. I’m now using Vanilla forums and they are hosting it.
Multiple Documents or One Window?
March 26th, 2011Packrat 2.0 supports multiple accounts. It does this by having a multiple document architecture where each document is an account.
I’m just wondering. What do you think about this? Do you like it, or would you rather have a single window user interface with multiple accounts in the same window?
This comes up because I am considering creating a Packrat Lite version for the Mac app store that would be free, but it would only support one account and only a certain number of pages. This means I either have a single window interface or prevent the user from opening another document, which is kind of clunky.
A Little Help Please
February 28th, 2011Packrat 2 sales have not been what I had hoped. I haven’t even seen the number of upgrades I had expected. Either the word is not getting out or people don’t need offline access anymore. If I can’t get sales going then I think I have to consider that Packrat has run its course and I need to move on to another product.
So, I am asking for your help. If you have purchased Packrat from the Mac App Store, please go there and write up a review. If you purchased from infinitenil.com, then please tweet, share on Facebook, or blog about it. If you haven’t upgraded yet, and you would like to see Packrat steadily improving then please buy a copy.
Even if you haven’t purchased Packrat or don’t like it, then please send me an email or tweet me and tell me what you didn’t like or why you didn’t buy or what would get you to buy. That will help me improve Packrat as well.
Your support keeps me motivated and helps me to be able to keep improving Packrat and developing new products that hopefully improve your life in some little way. Thanks.

- Fixed a bug that caused a crash when the app received a memory warning when you’re selecting a Facebook friend.
Sync with Things?
February 5th, 2011I am brainstorming some new app ideas here at infiniteNIL and I’m wondering how much interest there would be in an app that syncs 37signals’ Basecamp (or Backpack, Highrise) with Things from Cultured Code.
Please comment and let me know what you think.
